Spring
Spring weather is very unpredictable on the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Days can be sunny and mild, but nights are usually below freezing. Spring snowstorms are also not uncommon even as late as May. Spring wildflowers bloom from April to June, peaking in May.
Summer
Summer days are warm, but seldom hot as they rarely exceed 85 °F. Night temperatures are chilly as they drop into the 40's. During Mid-July to Mid-September afternoon thunderstorms are common. When a thunderstorm hits we advise you stay away from the canyon rim as it is exposed and lightening strikes are all too common and very dangerous.
Fall
Autumn days are usually crisp and cool, with nighttime temperatures around the freezing point of 32 °F. Fall foliage displays begin in Mid-September, peaking in October. The Aspens and Maple trees put on a brilliant display of color that melds with Bryce's limestone hoodoos.
Winter
Winters at Bryce are cold and snowy, but breathtakingly beautiful. The park receives an average of 96" inches (244 cm) of snow annually. The roads are kept open, but we advise being prepared for occasional closures due to plowing or snow storms. When a snow storm hits it can last several days and cause the roads to be icy. Daytime temperatures are generally above freezing. During the evenings sub-zero temperatures are to be expected.
